Used To Call Home ©

Well, I was headed on down between the
Georgia-Mississippi line when it started to rain.
So I stuck out my thumb and I got picked up
by some sweet Alabama flame.

Yeah, I told her I was headed out
to find another way now with a
broken heart and some dreams.
And she said sadly how it kinda looked
like she picked up on a looser.

Well, I got this one guitar
and a sleeping bag out on the road.
Yeah, I lost all my money
to the friends who I trusted to hold.

Yeah, I got this one guitar
and a sleeping bag out on the road.
And I'll be thinking about a place
that at one time I used to call home.

Well I woke just in time
to see the Oklahoma sunrise
and to wipe off the dirt from my face.
And I said "Lord, if anyone could see me now
I would be one sure disgrace".

So I got lost in the wilds of a big Texas sunset
as she patted back the tears from my eyes;
when I began to feel the weight returning now
from all of those recent severed ties.

Well, I got this one guitar
and a sleeping bag out on the road.
Yeah, I lost all my money
to the friends who I trusted to hold.

Yeah, I got this one guitar
and a sleeping bag out on the road.
And I'll be thinking about a place
that at one time I used to call home.

Well, I have no idea now how long it's been
but, Oh God, I can still feel the pain
and if it wasn't so much of a strain
I wouldn't bother recalling.

So I think I'll just continue on this road I'm on
'cause it's the only strait line I can find.
and if I ever get out of this bind,
well, I'll go back that way.

Well, I got this one guitar
and a sleeping bag out on the road.
Yeah, I lost all my money
to the friends who I trusted to hold.

Yeah, I got this one guitar
and a sleeping bag out on the road.
And I'll be thinking about a place
that at one time I used to call home.

And I'll be thinking about a place

And I'll be thinking about a place
